Happy Birthday USA!

Good morning!

Happy Birthday to the USA!

I will be celebrating today with My Honey, our daughter, and a friend at Riverbend, the summer home of the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops Orchestras.

It's time for fireworks and patriotic music all summed up with the 1812 Overture, now associated with July 4.

While we are celebrating we will be thinking of our wonderful nephew, Jim, serving in the Middle East.  We love you, Jim, and thank you for your service.

I was so excited to receive a package from Jim this week.  In it is a t-shirt for me!
"Kuwait Operation Iraqi Freedom" is on the left chest.
And, this is on the back.  Is this cool or what!

Jim knows I am a Mustang fan and still own my 1968 Mustang that I bought new at age 5.  OK, all of that is true except my age when I bought that 1968 Mustang.

I plan to take that shirt with me on my next cruise to wear on my morning walks around the deck.
The new t-shirt will be cool to wear when I go target shooting, too.  ;)

Very best,
Lois

  6. I love the mental picture of you wearing that to go target shooting! Or wearing it to a cruise. Either or.

  7. Good morning,

Yes, it was a very Happy Fourth, wasn't it!

Here we went to hear and see "Red, White, and Boom" at the Cincinnati Pops at Riverbend (Cincinnati Symphony and Pops Summer Home on the Ohio River) for a fantastic evening of patriotic music ending in the 1812 Overture, then spectacular fireworks. No pictures are allowed in Riverbend so I won't have a report here, but it was taped and I would guess will appear on your local public TV station, possibly today.

I hope you all had a grand day yesterday, too. :)

Thank you so much for stopping by.

    Very best,
    Lois
