Happiness is a Warm Puppy Dog
-Charlie Brown
Last year in May we got a new Labrador Retriever puppy who has a name bigger than he is: Idlebrook's Bjorn Erik Evensen. The picture above was taken with our Grandson Alex when Erik arrived last year.
Erik now weighs more than any of the kids weigh, but is as gentle as he was the day he came home with us. These "grown up" pictures of Erik and Granddaughter Katie were taken recently when our son and his kids were here for dinner. I came from the kitchen to put something on the table and there was a "cuddle fest" going on in the dining room. I'm so glad I carry my baby camera in my pocket to capture candid shots such as these.
Erik, Katie, Alex, and their siblings will be life long friends. And, Erik would give his life to defend them if necessary.
These images are just so sweet I wanted to share them here for the out-of-town cousins and others who understand and appreciate the wonderful relationships we have with our canine "family."
Enjoy,
Lois

That's a lot of happiness there, Lois. The puppy is so cute! And large. God's blessings to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your Erik photos of cute puppy and now handsome him! Nothing like the grandkids and dogs. I know our grandkids love playing with Lincoln and he loves them back. They run and chase each other constantly! Your granddaughter is cute too by the way and grandson Alex looks pretty cute himself!! Must of been a fun day and dinner!...debbie
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE these pictures. . . being the proud owner of a black lab that never learned she is a dog!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to start our day.... thanks for sharing.... virtual hugs to all... especiall the 4 legged babies :-)
ReplyDeleteOh Lois, I especially loved the last two photos. They were precious. I had a black lab for many years and know all to well what a wonderful breed this dog is! Gentle, faithful, loving and obedient! Love Di ♥
ReplyDeleteThank you, Friends,
ReplyDeleteYes, children and dogs are a wonderful combination, aren't they. Dogs are an opportunity for adults to help children learn to care for and interact with other living and loving creatures. Those of us who have or have ever had that special relationship with a dog know how wonderful it is.
Very best,
Lois
