Work in Process - Boot Cuff

Good morning,

Here's this week's Work in Process.  It's a boot cuff to match  the rest of a sweater set that is already spoken for.  This yarn is just so pretty!  I love the way the colors fall into place as I work on each part of this set.

What are you making, baking, growing today?

All the very best,
Lois

Pine Cones and Memories

Good morning,

While walking Penny recently I passed the trees that produce beautiful pine cones every year.

When we moved into the neighborhood 40 years ago, the kids and I collected many pine cones in this spot along the sidewalk, brought them home, rolled them in glue and glitter, then attached ribbons to make Christmas tree ornaments.  Of course, those children are all grown up now, but the memories will always be with me.

What wonderful memories!

Happy Fall!

Needlework and Wood Working Update - October, 2019

Good morning,

We have a short list of items completed during the past month and since the last update.  These items were both quite time consuming.

Above is Kjell's engraved wall art that has been a huge hit in the shop.  He has made two of them that are already sold.
Kjell is working on another already spoken for and will add another to the shop as soon as he can get them made.  It takes about a week to plan, engrave, and finish each of these.
If this looks familiar it is because it is the same colors and design, but different size as a sweater I made the previous month.  Both of the sweaters have been delivered to the buyers.

Both Kjell and I have a number of other projects that are in process.  We'll be traveling for a few days this month and I'll surely be working on more knit and crochet items while he drives, too.

We have many other wood, knit, and crochet available in the shop finished and ready to ship.  Come shop now for the holidays!  Since we'll be on the road for a few days, our next shipping date is Friday, October 11. Gift wrap option is available at checkout.

All the very best,
Lois

Snuggle Bug Elsa

Good morning,

This little sweetie snuggled up next to me and immediately went to sleep when I got into bed.  Of course, I didn't use a flash because I didn't want to disturb her.  I love the way her face is all "smooshed up" as she gets as close as possible.

There is no place like home!

Roundabout

Good morning,

I took Penny for a walk around the block late one evening.

This roundabout is on the opposite side of our block features beautiful flowers that are still happily blooming even in the dry heat of late Summer/early Fall.

Very soon the colorful flowers will be replaced by grey and brown and we'll all be wearing coats.

There is a fun story about those gas lights, too.  When we moved in 40 years ago, I told the kids the same as I had in our previous neighborhood, "Come home when the street lights come on."  It didn't take long for the kids to tell me, "Mom!  Those lights are always on!"  I still chuckle....

All the best,
Lois

Table Garden - Fall Blossoms

Good morning,

It is so much fun to watch the daily changes in my little table garden of house plants.  The Peace Lily is in bloom again;  this bud has a drop of moisture that has formed at the tip.
This is a different bud beginning to open.
Also on this small table in front of the dining room French doors is this African Violet that loves the morning sunshine.

Happy Fall!

Viking Magazine

Good morning,

For my yarn loving friends out there, there is a great article about Norwegian yarns in the current issue of Viking Magazine.

The magazine is published for members of Sons of Norway, but is surely available through library services.

Enjoy!
